Duress

In the wild, beauty is often born of desperation. This frame captures a rare and violent intersection of territories: a male leopard mid-flight, escaping the pursuit of a tigress. Moments before this leap, the two had clashed on the forest floor—a brief, thunderous spat that gave the leopard just enough time to scale a second tree. He waited for ten minutes, with the tigress watching from the brush below, before making this calculated, high-stakes gamble and leaping 30 feet to the forest floor. This wasn't a display of agility; it was an act of survival. I chose to process this in black and white to strip away the distractions of the forest, focusing instead on the explosive tension of a predator transformed into prey, suspended in a moment of pure, singular instinct.
